A notable event took place on 14th July 2023, when the Judd School celebrated the 50th anniversary of their exchange with the Adolf-Reichwein-Gymnasium in Heusenstamm. Guests included former exchange students and their families, the Mayor of Tonbridge & Malling, Cllr James Lark, and our Chairman, David Packer. Speeches were made.
Ingrid Lambert and Yvonne Ruebsamen were thanked for the excellence of the programmes they had organised over the years, which had enriched the lives of hundreds of students, and it was pointed out that Tonbridge Girls' Grammar School was also involved until recently.
Perhaps the most important contribution of all was the establishment of the formal twinning link between Heusenstamm and Tonbridge & Malling, with the signing of the twinning charter on 15th September 1984, as a result of the contacts already established between the schools and other societies. We have a 40th anniversary to celebrate next year! Es lebe die Freundschaft!
