AGM and Dinner 2018

As well as the Mayor and Mayoress of TMBC, 32 members sat down to a convivial dinner at the Rose & Crown, after which the Chairman, David Packer, welcomed everyone to the AGM, including our guests, the Mayor, Cllr Roger Dalton and Mayoress, Mrs Hazel Dalton.

In his report, he summarised the past year and outlined plans for 2018 and beyond, details of which can be found elsewhere in the Events section of this website.

The treasurer announced a nett increase in funds for the year 2017, partly due to the generous Tonbridge Lions Club donation towards the upkeep of the Relic Garden. Circle Membership is stable.

The Heusenstamm Youth Fund had been able to fund the visit to Slade Primary school by the head of the Matthias-Claudius-Schule, as well as a German-style Christmas meal for all the staff and pupils at Slade School.

The Officers of the Heusenstamm Friendship Circle were re-elected en bloc. Nominations are actively being invited for the roles of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, so anyone interested in standing next year, should get in touch with the incumbents now, to shadow them for this year. Each of these jobs can be shared by more than one person.

The evening ended with a big thank you and a collection for the staff at the Rose & Crown in acknowledgement of their efficiency and kindness in looking after us.
