Schools' Exchange 2017

The Mayor of Tonbridge & Malling, Cllr Roger Dalton, welcomed the visiting students from the Adolf Reichwein Gymnasium, at a reception at Tonbridge Castle on 21st June. A very high number (30) came over for the annual exchange with the Judd school, which has been in place for over 40 years. Tributes were made to the parents for their support, some of whom were present, as well as to the teachers, in particular Ingrid Lambert and Yvonne Rübsamen. The programme for the students included visits to Canterbury Cathedral, Brighton and Knole, while the Judd students had visited Marburg during their time in Heusenstamm in May. Since 21st June was the hottest day of the year, hosts and guests spent as much time as possible on the Castle Lawn in the shade, chatting in informal groups, while taking photos. Awards for the two best essays written by Judd students will be made later in the year.
